The Arc Community Center

The Arc Community Center are social and recreational activity centers for adults with developmental disabilities.  Our centers are an inviting place where members can enjoy the company of friends, play games or learn a craft, and take part in daily outings in the community.  Monthly dances provide an evening of fun, and our annual Variety Show allows members to showcase their talents singing, dancing and performing comedy.

Activities
Daily activities at the center include crafts, games, puzzles, aerobics, discussion groups and educational classes.  Daily outings include parks, the library, museums, bowling and civic events.  We also encourage service projects, such as stuffing envelopes for a local charity or cleaning the yard of a senior citizen.

Initiatives
Community Engagement Project
The Community Engagement Project works to engage members of the Community Center in learning activities in which they have a specific interest.  Activities take place in the community, where volunteers share their expertise on subjects like writing, cooking and art.  An excellent opportunity for members to grow and learn, the project also helps others appreciate the valuable contribution that people with disabilities make in our community.

Center for Digital Literacy
The donation of four new computers and image editing software has created the Community Center's Center for Digital Literacy, a computer lab where members can develop basic computing skills, learn internet safety and explore their interests in video creation and editing.

Volunteers
As many as 100 volunteers from local high schools, colleges, and the community participate in events at the Community Center each year, making our Center a uniquely warm and inviting place.  Click here to learn more about volunteering at the Community Center.
